M1 highway closed

The M1 highway will be closed this afternoon after a heavy duty truck lost its load, crushing another truck. Clean-up is under way.
THE M1 highway will remain closed to traffic for the next three hours after a heavy duty truck lost its load, crushing a delivery truck in the process.

The accident happened at approximately 5am today, close to the Empire Road Bridge, resulting in diesel spillage. The concrete barrier on the freeway was also damaged.

Johannesburg Roads Agency workers are cleaning the road before the two vehicles can be towed away.
