Joburg Water has warned residents in a number of Randburg suburbs of a disruption to their water supply from noon 10 March to the early morning of 11 March. Water tankers will be provided.

Water will be cut in Randburg on Thursday to allow technicians to complete repairs on a leaking pipe on the corner of Harley and Pretoria streets in Ferndale.

Johannesburg Water apologises to residents and “undertakes to have this emergency disruption resolved speedily”, says Johannesburg Water’s marketing and communications manager, Baldwin Matsimela.

Water will be turned off between noon and 6am on Thursday 10 March into Friday 11 March.

Areas affected include Ferndale, Olivedale, Strydom Park, Kensington B and Beverly Gardens.

Mobile water tankers will be available at:

• Abington and Grey Streets in Kensington B;
• Roux and Tulbagh, Beverly Gardens;
• Anchor and Westview, Beverly Gardens;
• Cedar and Kays, Bryanston Extension 3;
• Hill and Main streets in Ferndale;
• Hylauma and Rocky streets in Ferndale;
• Jacaranda Avenue, Sasol Garage behind Olivedale hospital and
• Olivedale hospital.

“The water tankers will be filled and maintained for the duration of the shutdown to provide customers with alternative water supply until the repair work has been completed and services fully restored,” Matsimela says.
