The City is rolling out a series of campaigns in shopping malls to educate the public on ways to enjoy the Christmas break without mishap or tragedy.
WITH the festive season just around the corner, the City will roll out a series of safety mall campaigns in a bid to ensure that residents keep safe over this busy period.
Shoppers willInformation stalls will be availableThe campaigns, ranging from road and fire safety to flood and water safety will be launched in Orange Farm at Pick n Pay and in Eldorado Park at the Metropolitan Centre on 26 and 27 November respectively, from 10am to 3pm.
Residents will also be taught about precautions for partying safely and how to avoid being victimised by criminals.
Various municipal entities will share information with the public. They include Emergency Management Services (EMS), the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) and the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD). The South African Police Service will also be on standby.
During the campaigns each entity will have their own information stalls, where shoppers can access information about career opportunities available in the JRA, JMPD and EMS.
In ensuring that information reaches the majority of residents, the campaigns will be rolled out in other shopping malls across the city.
