There will be no water in parts of Fourways tomorrow as Joburg Water repairs a burst pipe. Tankers will be dispatched to the area.
THERE will be a temporary interruption to the water supply in Cedar Creek Estate, Fourways, on Tuesday, 23 August, after a pipe burst.

According to Joburg Water’s spokesperson, Baldwin Matsimela, repairs to the burst pipe will start at 8am in the morning and will be completed by 6pm in the evening.

“Tanks will be arranged at the corner of Cedar Road and Cedar Lakes Avenue, at the clubhouse in Cedar Lakes, and at the corner of Third and Romney streets in Chartwell,” he added.

Cedar Creek, Cedar Lakes and Chartwell are expected to experience water service interruptions.

Ageing infrastructure was blamed for the pipe burst. “We do have an Infrastructure Renewal programme that is working at minimising such problems,” said Matsimela.

The programme also addresses the provision of water reticulation and related reservoirs and pump stations to support a growing city.
