The City of Johannesburg would like to inform its customers that the Customer Service Centres in Region G have been severely affected by the ongoing protests.
City’s Spokesman Kgamanyane Maphologela, says the protests taking placing in the south of Johannesburg have affected some of the Customer Service Centres in Ennerdale, Eldorado Park, Lenasia and Corobrick Building.
“We would like to apologize to our customers for this unfortunately incident. Furthermore, we advise them to make use of alternative centres in order to receive services, as currently most of these centres are not fully operational because of violent protests and cable theft,” says Maphologela.
Maphologela says the only operational office currently in Region G is Lenasia Civic and Lenasia South, however network is also a problem at these centres as a result of cable theft.
Maphologela says skeleton staff would be stationed at the centres which are interrupted by protests, in order to direct customers to other working centres.
Maphologela advises customers that, they can still pay their accounts using third-party payment methods.
