Parents can be rest assured of some relief from their busy schedules, thanks to Joburg’s public libraries offering a range of activities during the October school break.
The activities are aimed at providing a variety of fun learning and reading experiences to children, and also promote library services and provide a safe environment for children during the holidays.
With cost of living rising, parents will be pleased to know that the activities will come at no cost to them.
“The activities are offered free of charge during library hours to both members and non-members of the libraries, in line with the City’s pro-poor development and increasing access that seeks meaningful redress priorities among others,” said MMC for Community Development Nonhlanhla Sifumba.
Activities will include Spring and Heritage Day themed stories, arts and craft activities, building puzzles, playing games, and techno-literacy programmes. Some of the highlights of the holiday programme are as follows:
• Rand Water’s Manzi Water Wise show on how to save water for 6-14 year olds at the Brixton Library on 3 October at 10:00;
