With Youth Day and Father’s Day falling within an inch of each other this month, June sees much to celebrate by way of family, growth and the ongoing opportunity to highlight and address the challenges and concerns facing young people today.
Immortalised on the 16th of June each year, we reflect on the pivotal role that South Africa’s youth played in shaping our country’s history and how young people of South Africa continue to determine our country’s future outcomes.
Join the Apartheid Museum for a Youth Day Debate on Saturday, 16 June 2018. Moderated by Eusebius McKaiser, and joined by guest speakers Funzani Mtembu, Asanda Mgoasheng, Ntokozo Qwabe, Busisiwe Seabe and Nomfundo Walaza, as they debate the decolonisation project, along with a range of wider economic and political struggles in pursuit of a more just South Africa.

Fathers are also recognised for their role and contribution in leading the youth, guiding their hands and teaching them about the significance of our past - and why present pursuits are paramount in influencing individual and collective progress for a more stable and unified tomorrow.
