​The City of Johannesburg’s Nici Neal is officially a 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medallist in the women’s fours lawn bowls.

Neal, an Assistant Director: Specialised Services within Payroll Administration at the Metro Centre, is still in the running for more medals in the women’s pair.

This was after she and Colleen Piketh won 23-6 in round one of the women’s pair against Jersey. She won silver with Esme Kruger, Johanna Snyman and Elma Davis after losing 16-18 against hosts Australia.

Neal’s next game will be tomorrow against Northern Ireland and Wednesday she will participate in two matches. 

South Africa is currently seventh on the Commonwealth Games medals table with a total of 18 medals, which is being held in Australia’s Gold Coast.
