This exclusive occasion featured the launch of the Soweto Cheese and Wine Festival, which brought about a touch of class and elegant experience of cheese and wine tasting, while listening to some soulful and lounge house music from local DJs.

The entire theme was home-grown and focused on the promotion of local business and talent with cheese and wine served by Chef Mahlomola Thamae of TM Innovation and wine stalls from Distell including Eyethu Wine Cellar. Another 12 caterers sold some of the best local gourmet cuisine as well as some delicious seven colour dishes and desserts.

Entertainment featured live performances from local artists such as DJ Lusanda from Cape Town, MisFit from Pretoria, DJ Schots from Soweto and a special guest performance by Slique Angel.

Brionne Jacobs from Westdene had this to say about the day: “Beautiful occasions such as this one are always worth setting your normal routine aside for. It is worthwhile having come from so far to be a part of this.”

Seven Colour Sundays is Soweto’s first food market that takes place every last Sunday of the month at Soweto Theatre and is fast becoming one of Jozi’s favourite food market. It is filled with a beautiful sound of good music, an aroma of good food and you will get to interact with great people.
