In an effort to honour the important role played by mothers in the City of Joburg and country, Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo will host its 30th annual Mother’s Day concert at the Joburg Zoo on 12 May 2019.
No better way personifies the commemoration of motherhood and the festivity of maternal bonds than the happy sounds that fill the air.
To celebrate the great mothers of Mzantsi, families will be treated to live performances by energetic duo ‘Mafikizolo’, the three-time winners of the South African Music Awards, who will no doubt have the audience asking for more.
‘The Good Luck’ band of three brings with them fresh and electronic sounds with notes of Afrobeats. Msaki, the indie afro soul artist, who has featured on several famous tracks, will add some spice to an already sensational line-up. Kiddies entertainment areas will feature, food vendors, jumping castles, zoo tour guides and all recipes for a relaxed, safe and ideal day in the outdoors.
Joburg Zoo offers visitors the opportunity to see a range of animal species, including the Big Five, newbies – four adorable Siberian tiger cubs, an agile puma cub, an elegant giraffe calf, exotic South American species and lots more.
Tickets will be available at www.webtickets.co.za for R120 an adult and R70 for kids and pensioners. Gates open at 8:30am and the concert starts at 11am.
Parking will be available at the Zoo’s main parking at Upper Park Drive for R16 a vehicle with additional parking at Military Museum, Zoo Lake, Zoo CID and Saxonwold Primary School.
