Joburg Sport of the City of Johannesburg delivered the Healthy Lifestyle Programme #CyaZeeVocaVoca at the Moletsane Sport Complex, Legwale Street, in Soweto.

This citywide rollout of the healthy lifestyle programme saw at least more than thousand participants assembling on Saturday, 30 March 2019, at the sport complex responding to well-coordinated activities like 5 aside soccer for both sexes, netball; chess, cross training, board games, kiddie's game, aerobics and aqua aerobics.

Participants ranged from prescholars to senior citizens who all could not help it, but to respond to a fun filled day.

“This event was mind blowing. I did not expect the turnout to be that high," said Project Manager Nhlanhla Mwale.

When asked about her experience, Gogo Busi from Protea said: “It was nice and I enjoyed it. I saw new games that I would like to participate in."

Seeing males and females running around holding car wheels to cross the finish line was hilarious. In the cross- training workout relay, participants displayed various equipment such as wheels, ropes, steps, mats and weights can be combined and done in sequence during aerobics.

As if it was not enough, water lovers jumped into Moletsane Public Swimming pool for aqua aerobics. This saw to a good number of participants display aerobics movements with grace, showcasing strength and body flexibility in a swimming pool water which covered them to a waist under the watchful eye of aqua aerobics instructor Patrick “Shadow" Penn, a City of Joburg official.

“The Sport and Recreation team did exceptionally well to deliver the #CyaZeeVocaVoca programme in a well-coordinated manner and I am proud of the team that assisted the City to deliver this programme," said Mandla Mdlalose, Deputy Director Sport and Recreation, Soweto.

“Our sponsors Aquala, Nestle, Kellogs, Metropolitan, Colgate and Rohealth enhanced the programme and for that we are grateful," said Mdlalose.
