More than 1 200 people are expected to participate in a high-octane obstacle course covering over 6kms in and around the Emirates Park stadium precinct in Bertrams.
Dubbed Stadium Dash, the adrenalin-fuelled event is scheduled for Saturday, 3 August 2019. It is hosted by the City’s department of sport and recreation in Region F, in partnership with Shift Concepts.
The daredevil event will feature no less than 28 built obstacles, all of which crisscross the Standard Bank Arena, the Ellis Park Swimming Pool and Emirates Stadium.
Organisers say obstacle courses will be divided into two categories, with the first batch of athletes setting off at 7:30am, while the second group of participants depart at 9:30am.
Participating athletes will get to enjoy designed obstacle scenes for people of all fitness levels. The event aims to promote sport, healthy lifestyles and entertainment. It also presents a rare opportunity for locals to get acquainted with their city and its heritage.
