The Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, accompanied by the MMC for Safety, Cllr Michael Sun, the Head of Group Forensic Investigative Services, Shadrack Sibiya and the Chief of Police, David Tembe, will visit the site of violent clashes between the police and the community within the inner city.
The attack took place after police were in the process of an operation targeting counterfeit goods.
An attack on law enforcement officials cannot be tolerated if we are to ensure that the full might of the law is upheld.
The Mayor will visit the scene of the incident.
