CoJ colleagues are urged to stop what they are doing for a second on February 10 and say a little prayer for JMPD Officer George Wilhelm.

Wilhelm, who is known as the X-Terminator in the ring, is billed to wrestle at the WWP War of Pride contest in India on that Sunday, which is four days before Valentine’s Day.

Wilhelm, a multiple All African Heavyweight Champion and the Heartland Wrestling Association Heavyweight Champion works at the City’s Region C offices within the operations directorate.

He is passionate about wrestling and bodybuilding, two sporting codes that have earned him gold stripes and bragging rights, alongside his ginormous muscles. He started professional wrestling in 2002 and won the All African Heavyweight Championship for the first time in 2006 and again in 2008.

In 2010, Wilhelm was invited to the WWE training academy in Florida in the US, after which he received a development contract to join the world’s biggest wrestling franchise.

Wilhelm says he is passionate about policing, which has been his job for over 15 years. “I love my job,” he says, adding that he sacrificed his contract with WWE so he can remain within the employ of the City and the JMPD.

He won the World Wrestling Professionals (WWP) Heavyweight title in Nigeria and has fought against renowned WWE superstar Bobby Lashley in the main event in India.

Wilhelm clinched third place in the USN Gauteng Novice Classic Bodybuilding competition in 2008 and came first in last year’s SA Extreme Classic Bodybuilding contest. He is rated one of the top three African wrestlers to ever compete for the Commonwealth title.

He holds an Advanced Diploma in Policing.
