These games are part of the social cohesion programmes - a key intervention tool by the City’s Community Development Department. At least 490 children, 49 caregivers and 40 staff members from the City’s seven regions.
The sporting codes to be played from 9am to 1pm include ball throwing, ball dribbling, ball kicking, bean bag running, ball hopping, relay and ring throwing.
In the past six months various early childhood development centres have been preparing for the games with the assistance of Sport and Recreation Officers across the city. Knockouts were held to select the Regional Teams. Each team will be represented by 70 children.
Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre is on the corners of Peggy Vera and Sunningdale road, Kibler Park.
