This spring season, Johannesburg Public Libraries have planned a holiday programme aimed at keeping the young ones busy and creative as part of its ‘September School Holiday Fun @ Libraries Programme’. 

A range of activities for children and young people at designated libraries are scheduled to take place from 21 to 31 September 2019.  

The activities are aimed at providing a wide variety of fun related learning and reading experiences to children of all ages in a safe environment. 

The activities are offered free of charge during library hours to both members and non-members of the libraries. They will include spring arts and craft activities; story hours; games; face painting; Heritage month celebrations and much more. 

Some of the highlights are:
 
On 25 September at 10am the Coronationville Library will have a story time and children will learn how to make and wrap gifts using old newspapers. Age group 5-13 years;
3-12-year olds are invited to make spring themed paper crafts at the Boskruin Library at 10am on 25 September 2019;
At the Florida Library at 10am on 25 September children of all ages are invited to dress up in traditional clothes and bring traditional food to share;
On 21 September at 10am the River Park Library will teach children aged 7-12 years how to do simple crafts using beads and wool.
