​The City of Johannesburg's Deputy Mayor, Cllr Loyiso Masuku, and City Manager Dr Floyd Brink conducted a high impact service delivery operation in Randburg CBD in Region B on 23 April 2026.

The operation involved Joburg Metro Police, Joburg Water, Joburg Roads Agency, Joburg Property Company, City Power, Group Forensics and Investigation, Developmental Planning, Citizen Relationship and Urban Management and the Environment Infrastructure Services

Some of the major service delivery issues that are experienced in the Randburg CBD are ageing infrastructure, illegal dumping and littering, illegal business operations and illegal connection of electricity.

Cllr Masuku and Dr Brink also supervised the fixing of a ground water leak on the Randburg CBD main road that was obstructing traffic. Electricity at a guesthouse was disconnected after it was found that the business did not have an electricity meter.

A gym operating on municipality property was shut down after it was discovered that the business did not have a lease with the City and the business was illegally connecting water and electricity.

“Illegal connections are a major loss of revenue for the City and illegal electricity connections can lead to grid overload that causes power outages," said the Cllr Masuku.

In other parts of Randburg, JRA conducted road markings and attended to potholes while Pikitup ensured that illegal dumping sights are cleared.
