Wits Art Museum is delighted to present an exhibition of the works of Johannesburg-based artist Alfred Thoba. Drawing inspiration from newspaper articles and his own personal experiences, his paintings are powerful, highly individualistic expressions of his passionately held convictions. A notable element of Thoba’s practice is the provision of written narratives that accompany the paintings. Many of these are included in the display.
