Nambitha
A crowd of 20-somethings arriving at Nambitha indicates that it is modern, fresh and sizzling, especially when the sun goes down. At the same time, however, it is a wonderful family restaurant. And expect well-trained, polite service.
Young locals can be seen making the most of the beverages on offer. And although the atmosphere is relaxed, the entertainment carries on through the night with a refreshing vibrancy.

The menu is also aimed towards a young crowd, with hamburgers, tramezzini and toasted sandwiches featuring. But the Sowetan staples also put in an appearance, such as butter chicken, steak and spare ribs. Chicken and mutton curries are also popular choices.

Prices range from R33 for mogodu (tripe) to R65 for lamb chops. Breakfasts are available for those who prefer to experience Nambitha during the day, or are perhaps recovering from a heavy night out. Omelettes, bacon and eggs and beef sausages can whip you into the morning groove better than any cereal.

And you may even find yourself rubbing shoulders with kwaito superstar Mandoza. Nambitha is reportedly his favourite restaurant in Mzansi.
