| ON a visit to South Africa just over a year ago, American movie star Brad Pitt stopped for a meal at one of Soweto's well-known landmarks. But more than just hosting the actor, Wandie's Place is famous for the meals that it serves and the atmosphere that it exudes.
Diners sit at long tables, creating closer bonds with their friends, and increasing the vibrancy. The owner, Wandile Ndala, cooks the buffet, which consists of traditional foods.
The menu includes oxtail stew, lamb chops, beef potjie, dumplings and ting (soft porridge), to name a few. On average a main course costs R70.
There is a range of desserts to end your meal with something sweet - ice cream, jelly and custard, trifle and fruit salad.
The restaurant has wheelchair access to allow disabled diners to experience its magic. Wandie's is certainly worth a stop for those who are craving a tantalising African dish.
