Residents of Malvern, Jeppe and Bez Valley can access free primary healthcare at the refurbished Malvern Clinic, following repairs to address longstanding infrastructure challenges. MMC for Health and Social Development Cllr Ennie Makhafola officially reopened the facility after assessing its deteriorating condition earlier this year and responding to community concerns.

The refurbishment addressed electricity problems, improved consultation rooms and toilets, and connected the clinic to a water reticulation system to ensure a more reliable water supply. Previously, water shortages sometimes forced the clinic to close.

The clinic is among the City of Johannesburg's 96 municipal health facilities bringing healthcare closer to residents, with some facilities operating extended hours to improve access to essential services.

Services at Malvern Clinic include general consultations, chronic disease management, maternal and child healthcare, immunisations, family planning, cervical cancer screening, and blood pressure and glucose testing.

“Malvern Clinic is back and is here to serve the people of Malvern, Jeppe and Bez Valley with quality free primary healthcare," says Cllr Makhafola.
