Combating HIV/AIDS and decreasing the burden of disease from Tuberculosis. (HAST)
Monitoring the implementation of comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment programme (Including ART)
Monitoring the implementation of the TBCP including Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) TB and Extremely Drug Resistant (XDR) TB. (also Mono & Poly Resistant TB)
To provide comprehensive STI services
To implement the Jozi Ihlomile HIV and AIDS Door-to-Door education project
Coordinating and conducting training to ensure that protocols and standard practices are adhered to.
Coordinating and facilitating awareness programmes in the Regions (sub-districts) e.g. National awareness campaigns on HIV / AIDS, TB control.
Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the data handling (data collection, data collation, data processing and interpretation) on TBCP and ART data.
Functions as JAC Secretariat; coordinating meetings and all JAC activities including “coordinating” JAC sectoral responses to the AIDS epidemic
