The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Herman Mashaba will on Tuesday, 30 April 2019, deliver the State of the City Address (SOCA), during an official Council sitting. 

The SOCA Day will give the City of Johannesburg an opportunity to emphasize the importance of service delivery and give overarching plans, programmes and priorities of the City to residents and various stakeholders.

The focus will be on Advancing “Diphetogo” which means “change, and is the theme of the IDP 2019/20 Review. 

Therefore, in alignment with the City’s IDP, the 2019/20 IDP Review and the Institutional Scorecard, the administration is intent on expediting basic service delivery and creating awareness around the City’s priority programmes, to ensure that it meets its mandate and set objectives. 

Members of the media are invited to the accreditation session, pre-SOCA, where they will get accreditation and be given details of the logistics for SOCA Day.

The Networking session will be held as follows:

The State of the City Address (SOCA) will then be held the following day. The details of the SOCA are as follows:
