Mayor Mashaba to hand over title deeds to South Hills housing project beneficiaries

Tomorrow, Thursday, 15 August 2019, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Herman Mashaba, and the MMC for Housing, Cllr Meshack Van Wyk, will hand over title deeds to beneficiaries of the South Hills housing project.

This momentous occasion will mark the end of the 23-year wait for these beneficiaries, all of whom applied for housing in 1996. The City of Johannesburg’s Housing department also managed to ensure the beneficiaries are given full ownership within a year of being allocated to their units.

The total yield of units from South Hills is 6 204. It is comprised of RDP units, bonded rental units, community residential units and affordable social housing units.
