On Wednesday, 6 February 2019, the Executive Mayor Herman Mashaba will be joined by the MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, Nico de Jager, on a site visit to inspect the progress of the crucial Roosevelt Park Substation upgrade.

This substation has been undergoing major refurbishment by City Power and is, with 60% of the work already done, due to be completed later in the year.

The project has a R133 million budget to be spent over a three-year period.

The upgrade includes a new 88kv line feeding from the Delta Substation. This will provide greater redundancy, a key component in ensuring network stability for the residents of Franklin Roosevelt Park, Northcliff, Linden and surrounds, finally answering the call for a more reliable power supply.

The details of the event are as follows:

Date: 6 February 2019
Time: 10:30
Venue: Corner of Anton van Wouw Street and Preller Drive, Franklin Roosevelt Park.
