Tomorrow, Wednesday, 16 January 2019, the City of Johannesburg’s COO, Floyd Brink, will join a Buya Mthetho operation which will focus on large business and property owners who have connected illegally to the City’s services.
Operation Buya Mthetho, which was started by JMPD early last year, is a daily ward based raid initiative focusing on bylaw contraventions, illegal connections, and bringing the rule of law back to the City.
Tomorrow, the City will focus on recently developed properties which have cost the City millions in lost revenue. Compliance notices and fines will be issued and disconnections will be made to any illegal connections that are found.
Members of the media are invited to join the Buya Mthetho Unit as they embark on this operation.
