Tomorrow, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, together with MMC for Health and Social Development, Dr Mpho Phalatse, will assess and inspect the Westbury Community Based Treatment Centre.
To date, the City has four fully functional and operational substance abuse treatment centres; Tladi, Eldorado Park, Joubert Park, and River Park in Alexandra, with plans to open other substance abuse treatment centres – including one in Westbury, and an inpatient facility in Poortjie, South of Johannesburg.
The purpose of the oversight visit is to brief Mayor Mashaba and MMC Phalatse about expected timelines on the completion of the Centre which will contribute to the administration’s commitment to fighting the scourge of drugs that continue to grip communities across Johannesburg.
