In line with the Municipal Systems Act, the City of Johannesburg has lined up a series of engagements during which residents, customers and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to participate in an Integrated Development Planning (IDP) process to help shape the City’s short, medium, and long term future.
Integrated Development Plan requires the involvement of the broader public to ensure a consented approach to development and service provision. The IDP process demonstrates the City’s ability and determination to go back to basics and reconnect with the citizenry.
Residents and stakeholders will be consulted through various engagement methods that will include community meetings; virtual stakeholder engagement sessions; email submissions, etc.
Despite the current economic challenges, the City is determined to continue to improve the daily lived experience of its residents. To make this a reality residents are urged to give inputs on the draft budget and IDP.
The inputs from the public will assist to shape what ultimately ends into the final budget to be approved by Council before the conclusion of the current financial year.
NB: Due to Covid-19 Regulations, please be reminded that no more than 200 people will be allowed in each venue and no more than 50% capacity of venue can be utilised. All Covid-19 Regulations will be complied to with social distancing, sanitisation and wearing of masks are compulsory.
