Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), the champions in greening in the City of Johannesburg is spearheading its tree planting campaign during Arbor month from 29 August 2022 to 4 September 2022, a little earlier than usual.


The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development in the City of Joburg, Councillor Ronald Harris will unveil the much anticipated and revamped Bramfishcherville Park in Region C.  ​Cllr Harris will lead in the tree planting of 30 trees in the park as Arbor month celebrations gain momentum.  The refurbished park at a cost of approximately R3m, will offer park users an amphitheatre, durable concrete park benches, a 6-piece free to ​use outdoor gym, an irrigation system, modern play equipment, 6 a-side soccer pitch and a basketball court. 


JCPZ environmental educators and ten trained youth will conduct door-door house calls, on the value of trees and distribute 500 fruit trees to community members.

As part of the Executive Mayor, Dr Mpho Phalatse’s ‘The Golden Start’ programme of action, City Parks and Zoo continues to bring liveable green outdoor spaces to the residents of Joburg, in line with the seven mayoral priorities.
