Architectural professionals registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) will now have access to weekly virtual workshops intended to familiarise them with the Construction Permit Management System (CPMS) until Friday, 08 April 2022.
Championed by the Department of Development Planning, the CPMS is the City of Johannesburg’s latest digital solution specifically designed for building permit purposes. It is intended to modernise and streamline the current Site Development and Building Plan approval processes.
Architectural professionals are the primary users of the system and are required to submit all building plans using their professional credentials, which automatically align to SACAP’s database to confirm that they are in good standing.
The purpose of the workshops is to assist SACAP-registered persons to register, create personal profiles and use the online platform as it is being rolled out, to submit building plans and related applications.
The agenda of all the sessions will include the same content, so professionals need only to attend one. The Workshops will be held as follows:
