On Tuesday, 22 February 2022, a new coalition agreement was signed by the National Leadership of the DA, FF Plus, ActionSA, COPE, IFP, ACDP and PA, charting a path for a stronger and more effective coalition.

As such, Cllr Ashley Sauls I of the PA was this morning sworn in as the MMC for Health and Social Development.

On behalf of the Johannesburg Mutli-Party Government, I would like to welcome MMC Sauls I to the Executive leadership of the City, and I look forward to working with him and the Mayoral Committee as we continue to rapidly and passionately build a City of Golden Opportunities.

I would also like to thank Cllr Franco De Lange of the FF Plus for his service as a member of the Mayoral Committee, and for his selfless investment in the stability of the Johannesburg MPG by stepping away from his position as MMC in order to make way for the PA.

Cllr De Lange voluntarily resigns as MMC for Health and Social Development having firmly served the residents of Johannesburg, across all seven regions, with equal passion and compassion.

Our work as the Multi-Party Government stretches beyond our respective party political affiliations but is instead focused on serving the residents of Johannesburg for a full five-year term.
