The Multi-Party Government of the City of Johannesburg wants to professionalise the City's public service and stabilise the administration by hiring independent professionals of the highest calibre who can deliver quality services to our residents without fear or favour.

In 2016, our previous government committed to ending 20 years of cadre deployment and professionalise the City's administration, and we are now finally able to continue with this vision. We require independent thinkers, innovative leaders, and individuals with a high ethical and moral compass.

Crucial appointments to be made include that of City Manager - the Chief Executive Officer of the City. While we are grateful to Acting City Manager, Floyd Brink, for steering the City through difficult times, Johannesburg needs a permanent City Manager who will bring certainty and stability to the administration and enable the Multi-Party Government to achieve its service delivery priorities.

Other positions being advertised are:

  • Executive Director: Economic Development
  • Executive Director: GCSS (Group Corporate and Shared Services)
  • Executive Director: GSPCR (Group Strategy, Policy Co-ordination, and Relations)
  • Executive Director: Health

As we continue to build on the 'Golden Start', the Multi-Party Government remains committed to restoring hope to all residents, so that everyone can realise their aspirations in our City of Gold. Over the next 200 days there will be more interventions that are geared towards turning our City around.
