We have learnt with shock of the untimely passing of the renowned actress, Busi Lurayi. She passed on unexpected at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, and the unfortunate passing of the late hip-hop artist Tumi Tladi.
Lurayi is best known for her colourful and funny character, Phumzile on City Ses’la, the feisty and sharp attorney in Sokhulu & Partners as well as the recent character the black sheep and free spirited, Boitumelo in the Netflix film, How to ruin Christmas.
The Department of Community Development extends its sincerest condolences to her family. It is sad to lose a young talented actress who had so much to give to the arts industry. The actress was much loved and commended by those who worked with her. She will be remembered for her devotion, passion, and commitment to the arts.
Tladi will forever remain one of the talented choreographers, dancers, and rappers to have ever graced the arts industry. His passing comes as a shock especially to his fans and will be missed for his creativity. He will be remembered for his contribution to the hip-hop, his bright smile and multi-talented personality. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
