The Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Cllr Thapelo Amad, today paid tribute to the late songstress, Gloria Bosman who passed on yesterday at the age of 50 years.
The singing sensation was born in Soweto fifty years ago and her list of honours, includes two SA Music Awards (SAMA’s) and more than eleven nominations. She is one of the country’s most celebrated singers.
People of Johannesburg and the rest of the music community in the country and the world have lost an amazing musician.
She previously shared the stage with several musical greats; including Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa and Sipho Mabuse to name a few.
On behalf of all residents of Johannesburg I wish to express my condolences to the BOSMAN family, loved ones and friends.
“Please accept our most heartfelt sympathy for your loss, our thoughts are with you during this difficult time,” concludes the Mayor.
