Ratio means the relationship between the cent amount in the Rand applicable to residential properties and non-residential properties. Residential property included in a valuation and non-residential properties.  Residential property means a property included in a valuation roll (as residential) in respect of which the primary use or permitted use is for residential purposes.

*Multipurpose properties will be rated according to the multiple purposes as defined in the Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004. This can be defined as properties that have multiple categories; however, allgt the categories will be billed on the same stand, and account. The tariff to be charged will follow the split that will be allocated to a property.
